Erosion Control Services
Protecting Your Site in the Carolinas — And Everything Around It
Protecting Your Project Through Expert Erosion Control
At HGC, erosion control isn’t an afterthought — it’s an essential part of protecting your project, your budget, and the surrounding environment. Before the project begins and land is cleared, our dedicated erosion control team implements strategic measures to ensure sediment stays contained and your site remains compliant and operational.
Site Protection
Through the installation of various silt fence products, sediment retention ponds, and site stabilization, we prevent soil, debris, and contaminants from leaving your site—protecting surrounding properties, wetlands, and waterways from costly damage.
Regulatory Compliance
Erosion control isn’t just good practice—it’s required. We stay ahead of evolving regulations to ensure your project meets or exceeds all local and state environmental standards, avoiding fines, delays, or costly remediation.
Water Management
Our team plans for each weather event by directing rainwater runoff and capturing sediment on-site. This proactive approach minimizes erosion and ensures environmental compliance from the start.
In-House Solutions
No two projects are alike. Our team is trained to implement erosion control strategies with a proactive approach and respond with corrective measures quickly and effectively, keeping your project and the environment protected.
What is Erosion Control?
Erosion control is a critical part of responsible site preparation, especially in rapidly developing regions like Charlotte and the Carolinas. When rainfall or stormwater runoff displaces soil, it can lead to sediment pollution, property damage, and costly project delays. At Hoopaugh Grading Company, we provide comprehensive erosion control solutions tailored for large-scale construction and grading projects.
From silt fences and sediment basins to outlet control structures and temporary ground cover, our team uses proven best management practices (BMPs) to minimize soil loss and ensure environmental compliance. Whether you’re managing a commercial build, subdivision, or infrastructure project, our erosion control services help protect nearby waterways, preserve the integrity of your site, and keep your project on schedule and in compliance with regulations.

Pre-Construction Compliance Meeting
Pre-construction coordination meeting with the municipality and site inspector to review erosion control plans, permitting, and compliance requirements.
Installation
Install approved erosion and sediment control measures such as silt fences, construction entrances, inlet protection, and sediment basins to prevent runoff and protect surrounding areas during construction.
Ongoing Site Inspections & Reporting
Conduct regular site inspections and document compliance with erosion control regulations, ensuring all measures remain effective and up to code throughout the project duration.
Erosion Control Maintenance
Perform ongoing maintenance of erosion control measures and implement phased updates as the site progresses to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance at each stage of construction.
Rapid Mobilization for Erosion Repair
Respond quickly to any erosion control failures or damages by mobilizing repair crews to the site, minimizing environmental impact and maintaining regulatory compliance without delay.
Final Pond Conversion
Complete the conversion of temporary sediment ponds to permanent stormwater management systems and carefully remove temporary erosion controls like silt fences once the site is stabilized and compliant with regulations.
Erosion control is a driving force behind project success. It prevents environmental contamination, protects your timeline, and ensures regulatory compliance. With increased enforcement and third-party inspections, you need experienced professionals from day one.
