Feeding the Community: HGC’s November Food Drive Recap
Working with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
As we wrap up HGC’s first-ever food drive aimed at making a difference in our community, we are thrilled to share how we were able to impact the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. In honor of our company’s 70th anniversary, we embarked on a journey to extend our hands in support of those in need. The response from our teammates and partners was nothing short of incredible!
From the start, the enthusiasm and dedication of our employees were truly inspiring, and because of teammate and company support of the food drive, the donation will provide 4,000 lbs. of food which will be distributed throughout North and South Carolina. Each person’s commitment to contributing to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina —whether through donations, encouraging their teammates, or helping spread the word — played an integral role in the success of this initiative.
The outpouring of generosity flooded in from our field and office teammates, with donations being received daily. Canned goods and non-perishable items filled seven collection bins throughout our three office locations. The company also incentivized the team by offering a 1-to-1 match for each donation made! It was heartwarming to witness everyone coming together with a shared goal: to support and uplift those facing food insecurity in our local communities.
Being able to support such a well-known community partner, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, allowed us the opportunity to directly impact the lives of those around us. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Not only did we exceed our initial goals, but we also fostered a sense of unity and compassion within our team. This food drive was not just about collecting donations; it was about coming together to be the best for our community.
As we reflect on this experience, we are reminded that our collective efforts have the power to bring about positive change. The success of this food drive also serves as a testament to the generosity and kindness that define HGC’s company culture.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, volunteered, and supported this initiative and we look forward to the next opportunity our team has to make a positive impact around us!
